Following your first service, we proactively recommend routine maintenance based on your household waste production in order to prevent system back-ups and system failure.

Locating and Mapping Septic System

Many homeowners do not know the exact location of their septic system. Fortunately for you, this is a service that we offer. We recommend performing it as a proactive method to avoid increased cost and mess in the case of an emergency. Our methods for locating a septic system are varied. They may include sub-surface probes, flush-able transmitter/receivers, camera scoping and sub-surface metal detectors. We keep records of all our residential customers septic locations for their future needs. This includes routine service, sale of houses, and installation of swimming pools, and sprinkle systems.

Aeration and Chemical Treatment

Aerating a cesspool, along with chemical (sulfuric acid) treatment, is performed by using air in combination with environmentally safe chemicals to restore drainage. Air is pumped through a plastic pipe into the sand at the bottom of the cesspool to aerated the slime and sludge out of the sand so the chemical (sulfuric acid) can dissolve it quickly and most efficiently. The water-level in the cesspool will start to drop instantly, allowing for usage to resume like normal. Read some frequently asked questions about cesspool aeration and decide if it is a route for your septic system.

Waste Line Clearing and Hydro-Jet/ Roto-Rooter

One of the main causes for drain line blockages is grease, sludge, sand and debris clogging and solidifying in the line. Our waste line clearing methods penetrate and emulsifying grease, break up sludge. Allowing your lines to properly flush out and drain. Another reason for clogged lines can be penetrating plant and tree roots. In some cases, roto-rooter can clear these lines. But the best remedy is replacing the waste line with a properly installed PVC line with effectively sealed connections. Roots are drawn to the water and oxygen that leak out of broken or poorly sealed lines. This causes the roots to grow towards the source and eventually damaging the line. Our technicians use camera scoping to determine the cause of the blockage and proper course of treatment or repair if needed. Get professional sewer line clearing today with our team.

Septic Evaluations

When you put a house on sale, inspect the septic system. This enhances the home’s value and avoids any liability issues that may result from a malfunctioning system. A prospective buyer is likely to insist on an inspection of the the septic system before purchasing the home. We recommend Septic System Evaluations for home owners that are unfamiliar with their septic systems, it's location, performance and/or service history.

Septic Inspections

A septic inspection involves all the residential septic services of a "septic evaluation" as well as getting an Engineer's Certification. Septic inspections are required by a Town Building Department or Suffolk County Department of Health for verify an existing sanitary system meets the number of bedrooms for a Certificate of Occupancy.

What We Record

We record our septic "evaluations" with a written report, which includes a septic system map and our findings:

  • The approximate age of the system and what system components, i.e. cesspools (pre-1973) or a septic tank with leaching pools (post 1973).
  • The overall performance of the system. We check to ensure the septic tank is separating the solid waste from the liquid waste (effluent) and the leaching pools are effectively draining.
  • The sludge level. Sludge accumulates on the tank bottom and should not occupy more than 1/3 of the tank’s total volume or rise to the level of the baffles which can cause system failure including back-ups.
  • Confirming that the septic tank and drain-field are proper distance from pools, wells, streams and water sources.
  • Ensure that the system is large enough for the home that it serves. A four-bedroom home, for instance, typically requires a 1,000-gallon tank. The more 'bedrooms," the larger the tank.
  • Ensuring that liquid waste that has not made its way to the ground surface. This condition is unsanitary and indicates that the system is overloaded. Checking to make sure that the tank is watertight so that wastewater does not contaminate groundwater, and groundwater does not flow into the tank and cause it to overfill.
  • Inspecting the risers for cracks and make sure they are secure

Replacement Covers

We install and replace all types of septic covers, concrete covers, heavy duty covers, traffic bearing covers (for driveways).

Septic Tank Risers

Septic tank risers are used to bring a septic cover opening up to grade, or slightly below grade by a few inches. This allows for your septic tank to be easily accessible for service and pumping.

Camera Scoping

Camera scoping is a safe method for diagnosing septic issues, such as blockages, from waste and/or roots. It is also an effective method for locating various system components.

Waste Line Repair and Replacement

When a waste line is damaged, broken, or permanently clogged by roots, this can cause your system to fail and eventually back-up. Replacing a waste line involves the following:

  • trenching the line.
  • excavating the surrounding area and damaged line.
